About Location QR Code Generator

Make a QR code that points to an exact spot on the map, such as your shop entrance, a wedding venue or a site gate, from its latitude and longitude. The code holds a standard geo: location. On most Android phones, scanning it offers to open the spot in Google Maps or another maps app. Some phones, including many iPhones, may show the coordinates as text instead, so for every phone a Link code with a Google Maps link is the safer choice.

How to Use

1

Get the coordinates

In Google Maps on a phone, touch and hold the exact spot to drop a pin; the latitude and longitude appear at the top. On a computer, right-click the spot and click the numbers at the top of the menu to copy them.

2

Enter them

The Location tab is already selected. Type the first number in Latitude and the second in Longitude, for example 28.6139 and 77.2090. If you are standing at the place, click "Use my current location" instead.

3

Style it

Pick colours and shapes under Style and add a logo if you like. Label it in "Code label" to name the file.

4

Download and test on two phones

Click Download PNG or SVG, then scan it with an Android phone and an iPhone to see what each does before you print it.

Privacy & Processing

  • Mode: local
  • Files Leave Browser: Local tool processing; review details below
  • Max Input Size: Device memory limits
  • Account Required: No
  • Data Stored Locally: Nothing is saved. Download your code before leaving the page.
  • Network Processing: Assets or models may require an initial download

The QR code is made in your browser. Coordinates, including your current location if you use it, are never sent to a server.

Rules & Limitations

  • Support for geo: codes depends on the phone and scanner app. If a phone does not open a map, it may show only the numbers. For guests with any phone, use the Link tab with a Google Maps link to the place.
  • Latitude must be between -90 and 90 and longitude between -180 and 180. In India, latitude comes first and is the smaller number (about 8 to 37).
  • "Use my current location" asks your browser for permission and is only as accurate as your device; check the numbers on a map before printing.

Top Suggestions

  • Wedding cards and event invitations that guide guests to the venue
  • Shop, clinic or office signs that point customers to the right entrance
  • Delivery and visitor directions for a warehouse, farm or construction site
  • Meeting points for treks, tours and college events

Location QR Code Generator FAQ

How do I make a QR code for a Google Maps location?

Find the place in Google Maps, touch and hold it (or right-click on a computer) to see its latitude and longitude, and type them here. Alternatively, copy the place's share link from Google Maps and make a code with the Link tab, which opens in a browser on every phone.

How do I find the latitude and longitude of a place?

In Google Maps, touch and hold the spot on a phone, or right-click it on a computer. The coordinates appear as two numbers, such as 19.0760, 72.8777; the first is latitude and the second is longitude.

Does a location QR code work on iPhone?

It depends on the scanner. The geo: format is handled well on most Android phones, but some iPhone camera and scanner apps show the coordinates as text instead of opening Maps. Test with an iPhone, and use a Google Maps link in a Link code if it does not open.

Should I use a location QR code or a Google Maps link QR code?

A location code works without any link and keeps just the coordinates, which is neat for Android users. A Google Maps link code opens on every phone and can show the place name and reviews. For wedding cards and posters seen by many people, the link is the safer choice.

Is my location shared when I click "Use my current location"?

No. Your browser gives the coordinates to this page only after you allow it, and they go straight into the form. They are not sent to ToolKit360 or saved.
