About Compress Image to 100 KB

Shrink a scanned document or a photo of one, such as a marksheet, certificate, Aadhaar or PAN copy, to under 100 KB for an upload form. The page opens with "Limit the file size" on, Max KB set to 100 and JPG as the format. It starts at the image's own width and height and lowers the JPG quality until it fits, making the image smaller only if it must, so text stays as sharp as the limit allows. Crop off the table or desk around the page first, and check the result before you download.

How to Use

1

Add the scan or photo

Drop, choose or paste a JPG, PNG or WebP image of the document. If it is sideways, use Rotate left or Rotate right.

2

Crop to the page

Turn off "Keep proportions", type a size in the page's shape, such as 1000 × 1414 px for A4, and drag the crop box over the page; use Zoom to leave out the background. Fewer wasted pixels means sharper text at 100 KB.

3

Check the text

Look at the Result preview. If small print is hard to read, crop tighter rather than making the page smaller.

4

Download

When the chip says "Under 100 KB", click Download. The file name ends with the final size in pixels.

Privacy & Processing

  • Mode: local
  • Files Leave Browser: Local tool processing; review details below
  • Max Input Size: Device memory limits
  • Account Required: No
  • Data Stored Locally: Nothing is saved. Your image stays in memory only while this page is open.
  • Network Processing: Assets or models may require an initial download

Documents and photos are compressed in your browser and never uploaded.

Rules & Limitations

  • Rotation is in 90° steps only. A page photographed at an angle is not straightened, so hold the phone flat over the page.
  • If the lowest quality (40%) is still over 100 KB, the image is made smaller in pixels, which can blur small text. The Result tells you when this happens.
  • Max KB 100 means at most 100,000 bytes, which is under the limit however the site counts a kilobyte.
  • The result is an image, not a PDF. If the form wants a PDF, convert the JPG afterwards.

Top Suggestions

  • Marksheets, certificates and caste or income certificates for college admission portals
  • Aadhaar, PAN and address proof copies for KYC and job applications
  • Handwritten declarations and thumb impressions that allow up to 100 KB
  • Photos of bills or receipts for reimbursement forms

Compress Image to 100 KB FAQ

How do I compress a scanned document to 100 KB?

Add the scan here; Max KB is already 100 and the format is JPG. Crop away the margins and background, then check that the text in the Result preview is readable and the chip says "Under 100 KB". Click Download.

How do I reduce Aadhaar card image size to under 100 KB?

Photograph the card on a plain surface or add a scan, turn off "Keep proportions", type a card-shaped size such as 1000 × 630 px and drag the crop box over the card. The tool then fits it under 100 KB. To mark the copy for one purpose, add a text watermark afterwards with the Image Watermark Tool.

Will the text stay readable at 100 KB?

Often, yes, because the tool lowers JPG quality before it touches the size in pixels. Readability drops if the image has to be shrunk, so crop out everything except the page and avoid shadows on the paper.

Can I turn the 100 KB image into a PDF?

Yes. Download the JPG, then open JPG to PDF in the PDF Suite to put it on a page. Check the size of the PDF before you upload it, as the form may have a separate limit for PDFs.

Does compressing remove location data from my photo?

Yes. The result is drawn fresh from the pixels, so camera details and GPS location (EXIF) are not copied into the downloaded file.
