About LinkedIn Banner Resizer

Make a LinkedIn profile banner (background photo) at the recommended 1584 × 396 px from any image. The page opens with the "LinkedIn banner (1584 × 396)" preset, so the crop box is a wide 4:1 strip: drag it over the part of the picture you want, zoom in if needed and download a JPG. If your image is not wide enough, "Fit inside" places all of it on a solid colour band instead. It all runs in your browser.

How to Use

1

Add your image

Drop, choose or paste a photo or design, ideally at least 1584 px wide. A city skyline, office, landscape or plain design works well.

2

Place the strip

Drag the crop box up or down to choose the band to keep, and use Zoom to tighten it. Keep your main subject away from the lower left, where your profile photo will sit.

3

Or fit the whole image

For a logo or a narrow picture, choose "Fit inside" under "When the proportions differ" and pick a Background colour that matches it.

4

Download and upload

Click Download, then on LinkedIn open your profile, choose to edit the background photo and upload the 1584 × 396 file.

Images are resized in your browser and never uploaded.

Rules & Limitations

  • A normal photo is much taller than 4:1, so only a thin band of it fits. Pick an image with the interest in a horizontal strip.
  • An image narrower than 1584 px is enlarged and may look soft; the Result warns when this happens.
  • LinkedIn shows the banner differently on phones and computers, and your profile photo covers part of it. Keep text and faces near the centre and check it on both.

LinkedIn Banner Resizer FAQ

What is the LinkedIn banner size?

LinkedIn recommends 1584 × 396 px for a profile background photo, a 4:1 strip. This page sets that size and lets you choose which part of your image fills it.

Why does my LinkedIn banner look blurry?

Usually the original image was smaller than 1584 px wide, so it had to be enlarged. Start from a larger image, or raise the Quality slider above 90%, or choose PNG for banners with text.

How do I make a LinkedIn banner from a logo?

Add the logo and choose "Fit inside". The logo is placed whole in the middle of the 1584 × 396 banner and the sides are filled with the Background colour, so pick one that suits your brand.

Will my profile photo cover the banner?

Yes, partly. Your round profile photo overlaps the lower left of the banner on a computer and a different area on phones. Keep important text and faces away from the edges and the lower left.

Should I save the banner as JPG or PNG?

JPG is fine for photos and keeps the file small. PNG keeps text, logos and flat colours crisp. Switch the Format before you download.
