UPSC Photo Resizer FAQ
What is the UPSC photo size in pixels?
The preset uses 550 × 700 px, a JPG of 20–300 KB. Recent UPSC rules have allowed any width and height from 350 to 1000 px, so 550 × 700 sits comfortably inside the range. Check the notice for your exam.
How do I add my name and date on a UPSC photo?
This page does not add text. If your notice asks for it, use the Image Watermark Tool first to put your name and the date at Bottom centre at full opacity, then add that image here and keep the text inside the crop box.
Can I upload a 200 KB photo for UPSC?
Yes, if the notice allows up to 300 KB. The tool keeps the highest quality that fits, and a 550 × 700 px photo usually lands well under 200 KB. If your notice sets 200 KB as the maximum, type 200 in Max KB to be sure.
Should my UPSC photo be square or rectangular?
The preset makes a portrait rectangle, 550 × 700 px. If the notice asks for a square or another shape, type the width and height it gives, and the crop box changes to match.
Is the same photo used on the UPSC admit card?
The photo you upload is generally the one printed on your admit card and checked at the exam centre, so use a recent photo that looks like you on the exam day.
