About Word to PDF

Turn the text of a Word (.docx) file into a simple, readable A4 PDF. The text is set in an 11 pt Helvetica font with margins of about 2 cm and flows onto as many pages as it needs. Formatting is not kept: bold, headings, tables, images, headers and the original page layout are lost, and only Latin-script text can be drawn. It suits plain English letters, notes and essays, where the words matter more than the design.

How to Use

1

Add your Word file

Drop one or more .docx files on the page, paste them with Ctrl+V, or click Choose Word files. Older .doc files are refused; save them as .docx in Word first.

2

Convert to PDF

Press Convert to PDF. Each Word file becomes its own PDF, named after it.

3

Download

Click Download, or Download all (ZIP) for several. If the result says some characters were left out, the document used letters or symbols the built-in font cannot draw.

  • Only the text is converted. Formatting, tables, images, headers, footers and page breaks are not kept.
  • Hindi and other Indian scripts, and symbols such as ₹, cannot be drawn by the built-in font, so they are left out and the result says how many characters were dropped. A document written only in Hindi cannot be converted.
  • To keep the exact look of a document, use Save as PDF in Word itself, or Download as PDF in Google Docs.

Word to PDF FAQ

How do I convert a Word document to PDF online?

Add your .docx file, press Convert to PDF and click Download. The PDF has the same name as the Word file and the text laid out on A4 pages.

Why does my PDF not look like my Word document?

This tool copies only the text into a plain A4 layout, so fonts, bold, headings, tables, images and page breaks are lost. For an exact copy, use Save as PDF in Word or Download as PDF in Google Docs.

Why are Hindi words or the ₹ sign missing from my PDF?

The PDF is made with a built-in font that only covers Latin letters, digits and common symbols. Characters it cannot draw, including Devanagari and ₹, are left out, and the result says how many were dropped.

Can I convert a .doc file to PDF?

No, only the newer .docx format is supported. Open the .doc file in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs, save it as .docx, then add it here.

Do I need Microsoft Word to convert DOCX to PDF?

No. The file is read and the PDF is made in your browser, so you need no Word licence or other software. Keep in mind that only the text is kept.
